Seat Belt Reminder Light

Front Seats

(1) Driver's Seat Belt Reminder Light
(2) Front Passenger's Seat Belt Reminder Light

To remind the driver to fasten the seat belt, the seat belt reminder light flashes for approximately 6 seconds each time the ignition switch is turned to the ON position, regardless of whether the seat belts are fastened or not.

If the driver's seat belt is unfastened with the ignition on, or if the seat belt is unfastened after the ignition is turned on, the seat belt reminder light remains on until the seat belt is fastened.

If you still do not fasten the seat belt and drive at a speed higher than 9 km/h, the warning light starts flashing until the speed is again lower than 6 km/h.

If you still do not fasten the seat belt and drive at a speed higher than 20 km/h, a warning chime sounds for approximately 100 seconds and the corresponding light starts flashing.

NOTICE

• The front passenger's seat belt reminder light is located in the center of the instrument panel.
• Even if the front passenger seat is unoccupied, the seat belt reminder light flashes or stays on for 6 seconds.
• This light may be activated if luggage is placed on the front passenger seat.

WARNING

The front passenger seat belt reminder light may not operate properly if the passenger is seated incorrectly. The driver must instruct the passenger to follow the seating instructions in this manual.

Rear Seats

If the ignition is on (engine off) and the rear passenger seat belt is not fastened, the corresponding indicator light comes on until the belt is fastened.

The corresponding rear seat belt reminder light comes on for approximately 35 seconds in the following cases:

- Starting the engine with the rear seat belt unfastened.
- Driving at a speed higher than 9 km/h with the rear seat belt unfastened.
- Driving at a speed lower than 20 km/h with the rear seat belt unfastened.

If the rear seat belt is fastened, the reminder light turns off immediately. If the rear seat belt is unfastened while driving at high speed, above 20 km/h, the seat belt reminder light flashes for approximately 35 seconds.

On the other hand, if the rear passenger seat belts are fastened and unfastened twice within 9 seconds after being fastened, the corresponding reminder light does not operate.
