Driving Your Vehicle

Warning Light and Message

~1min read

When the LDWS is not operating properly, the indicator illuminates and a warning chime sounds for several seconds.

Take your vehicle to an authorized HYUNDAI dealer and have the system inspected.

The LDWS does not activate in the following cases:

  • The driver turns on the turn signal to change lanes, or uses the hazard warning lights.
  • Driving on a highway exit ramp.

Intelligent

Always use the turn signal when changing lanes.

WARNING TO THE DRIVER

The LDWS may not warn you even if the vehicle departs from its lane, or it may warn you that the vehicle is departing from its lane when it is not, when:

  • The lane marking is not visible due to snow, rain, dirt, puddles or other factors.
  • The outside brightness changes abruptly, such as when entering or exiting a tunnel.
  • The headlights are not on at night or in a tunnel, or the light level is low.
  • The color of the road markings is difficult to distinguish, or the lines are damaged or unclear.
  • Driving on a steep slope or through a curve.
  • Light similar to street lamp light, sunlight, or an oncoming vehicle's light is reflected on the wet road surface.
  • The camera lens or windshield is covered by foreign material.
  • The camera cannot detect the lane due to fog, heavy rain or heavy snow.
  • The temperature around the interior rearview mirror is high due to direct sunlight.
  • The road lane is very wide or narrow. The windshield is fogged up from moisture inside.
  • Shadow on the lane marking.
  • There is a mark on the road resembling a tire track.
  • The lane is restricted by a structure such as a concrete barrier.
  • The distance to the vehicle ahead is too short, or the vehicle ahead blocks the lane.
  • The vehicle vibrates heavily due to poor road conditions.
  • The number of lanes increases or decreases, or the lanes intersect.
  • There is something on the instrument cluster.
  • You are driving with the sun ahead.
  • You are driving through construction zones.
