A/C PRESSURE SENSOR Description and Operation

~1min read

Description

The A/C pressure sensor (APT) measures the high-pressure line pressure and converts it into a voltage signal. Based on this signal, the ECM controls the cooling fan, operating it at high or low speed. The ECM stops compressor operation when the refrigerant line temperature is too high or too low, in order to optimize the air conditioning system.
