Aux. Battery Saver+ (Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle)

Aux. Battery Saver+ is a function that monitors the charge status of the 12V auxiliary battery.

If the auxiliary battery level is low, the main high-voltage battery charges the auxiliary battery.

Information

The Aux. Battery Saver+ function is enabled when the vehicle is delivered. If the function is not needed, you can disable it in the user settings mode on the cluster. For more information, refer to the following page.

Mode

• Cyclic mode:

When the vehicle is off and all doors, the hood, and the tailgate are closed, Aux. Battery Saver+ activates depending on the condition of the auxiliary battery.

• Automatic mode:

When the engine start/stop button is in the ON position with the charging connector connected, the function activates depending on the condition of the auxiliary battery to prevent over-discharge of the auxiliary battery.

Information

• Aux. Battery Saver+ operates for a maximum of 20 minutes. If Aux. Battery Saver+ activates more than 10 times consecutively in automatic mode, the function stops activating, as it is determined that there is a problem with the auxiliary battery. In this case, drive the vehicle for some time, or if the auxiliary battery returns to normal condition, the function will resume activation.
• Aux. Battery Saver+ function cannot prevent battery discharge if the auxiliary battery is damaged, worn out, used as a power source, or unauthorized electronic devices are used.
• If the Aux. Battery Saver+ function has been activated, a message will appear on the instrument cluster and the high voltage battery charge level may decrease.

System Settings

The driver can activate the Aux. Battery Saver+ function by placing the Engine Start/Stop button in the ON position and selecting:

"User Settings → Others → Aux. Battery Saver+"

The Aux. Battery Saver+ function is deactivated when the driver turns off the setting.

LCD Message

This message is displayed when the Aux. Battery Saver+ function has been activated while the vehicle is turned off.

However, if the LCD message appears frequently, we recommend that the auxiliary battery or the vehicle's electrical/electronic components be serviced by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

WARNING

When the function is activated, the third charge indicator will flash and high voltage electricity will flow in the vehicle. Do not touch high voltage electrical wires (orange), connectors, and any electrical components and devices. This may result in electric shock and injury. Also, do not modify your vehicle in any way. This may affect the operation of your vehicle and cause an accident.
