If the Engine Stalls While Driving
- Gradually reduce speed while keeping a straight line. Carefully move off the road to a safe place.
- Turn on the hazard warning flashers.
- Try restarting the hybrid system. If the vehicle still does not start, contact an authorized HYUNDAI dealer or other qualified service provider.
If the Vehicle Stalls at an Intersection or Crossing
If the vehicle stalls at an intersection or crossing, and it is safe to do so, shift the shift lever to N (Neutral) and push the vehicle to a safe location.
If You Have a Flat Tire While Driving
If a tire goes flat while driving:
- Release the accelerator pedal and allow the vehicle to slow down while travelling straight ahead. Do not apply the brake immediately or attempt to steer off the road, as this may cause loss of vehicle control and an accident. When the vehicle has slowed to a safe speed, gently apply the brake and pull off the road. Move as far off the road as possible and park on a firm, level surface. If you are on a divided road, do not park in the median between the two traffic lanes. • Once the vehicle has stopped, press the hazard warning flasher button, shift the shift lever to P (Park), apply the parking brake, and turn the Engine Start/Stop button to the OFF position.
- Ask all passengers to exit the vehicle. Make sure they all exit on the side of the vehicle away from traffic.
- When replacing a flat tire, follow the instructions given later in this chapter.
