Wipers and Washers

A: Wiper speed control

· MIST – single wipe
· OFF – Off
· INT – intermittent wipe
· LO – Low wiper speed
· HI – High wiper speed

B: Intermittent wiper time control adjustment

Wipers

Operates as follows when the ENGINE START/STOP button is in the ON position.

MIST: For a single wipe cycle, push the lever up and release. The wipers will operate continuously while the lever is held in this position.

OFF: The wiper does not operate.

INT: The wiper operates intermittently at equal intervals. To change the speed, move the speed control lever. The highest setting operates the wipers most frequently (for heavier rain). The lowest setting operates the wipers least frequently (for lighter rain).

LO: The wiper operates at low speed.

HI: The wiper operates at high speed.

Information

If heavy snow or ice has accumulated on the windshield, defrost the windshield for approximately 10 minutes, or until the snow and/or ice is removed, before using the wipers to ensure proper operation.

If you do not remove the snow and/or ice before using the wiper and washer, the wiper and washer system may be damaged.

Windshield Washers

In the OFF position, pull the lever toward you carefully to spray washer fluid onto the windshield and operate the wipers for 1 to 3 cycles. Washer spray and wiper operation will continue as long as the lever is held. If the washer does not operate, you may need to add washer fluid to the washer fluid reservoir.

WARNING

When the outside air temperature is below freezing, ALWAYS warm up the windshield before using the washer to prevent the washer fluid from freezing on the windshield and blocking your view, which may result in an accident and serious injury or death.

NOTICE

• To prevent possible damage to the washer pump, do not operate the washer when the fluid reservoir is empty.
• To prevent possible damage to the wiper blades or windshield, do not operate the wipers when the windshield is dry.
• To prevent damage to the wiper arms and other components, do not attempt to move the wipers by hand.
• To prevent possible damage to the wiper and washer system, use washer fluid antifreeze in winter or in cold weather.
