Smart Key Precautions

The Smart Key may not operate in the following cases:

  • The Smart Key is near a radio transmitter, such as a radio station or airport, which may interfere with normal transmitter operation.
  • The Smart Key is near a two-way mobile radio system or cellular phone.
  • A Smart Key of another vehicle is used near your vehicle. If the Smart Key malfunctions, lock or unlock the door with the mechanical key. If you have a problem with the Smart Key, contact an authorized HYUNDAI dealer. If the Smart Key is located very close to your mobile phone, the signal may be blocked by the normal operating signals of your mobile phone. This is especially likely when the phone is in use, for example when making and receiving calls, sending and receiving text messages, and/or sending and receiving e-mails. Avoid placing the Smart Key and your mobile phone in the same location, and always try to keep a sufficient distance between the two devices.

NOTICE

Keep the Smart Key away from electromagnetic materials that block electromagnetic waves to the key surface.

NOTICE

Always carry the Smart Key with you when leaving the vehicle. If the Smart Key is left near the vehicle, the vehicle battery may be discharged.
