Description

Depending on driving conditions and vehicle load status, the headlamp beam direction is changed to maintain driver visibility and to protect the driver's eyes from glare, for safe driving. The built-in sensor ECU, installed on the rear center arm, drives the headlamp actuator upon detecting an input signal, as the vehicle's static attitude changes. The headlamp beam is automatically adjusted when the chassis tilts.

Operation

Operating Procedure
  1. Change in suspension angle due to change in vehicle load.
  2. Change in sensor angle.
  3. The microprocessor calculates the required headlamp tilt angle change.
  4. Sends the proper signal to the headlamp leveling device and drives the actuator.
  5. Ignition ON
  6. Low Beam On
  7. When stopped: If the change in the sensor arm angle is 0.3° or more, the headlamp is adjusted after a maximum of 1.5 seconds.
  8. When driving: if the vehicle speed exceeds 4 km/h, the speed change does not exceed 0.8–1.6 km/h per second, and the load state changes, then the headlamp is adjusted.
  9. Automatic Headlamp Leveling Device 1. Leveling Unit and Sensor 2. Sensor Mounting Bracket 3. Sensor Link
    • Using the microprocessor, detects the mechanical angle change of the control arm or the speed signal.
    • As the actuator control device of the internal control program, installed on the rear center arm.
