Description
The evaporative emission control system prevents fuel vapor from accumulating in the fuel tank and escaping into the atmosphere. When fuel evaporates in the fuel tank, the vapor passes through the vent hoses or tubes into the canister filled with activated charcoal. The canister temporarily holds the fuel vapor. The ECM monitors the system and draws the collected vapor into the combustion chambers under certain operating conditions. Intake manifold vacuum is used to draw the vapor into the intake manifold.Test yourself
