Emergency Equipment
Your vehicle is equipped with emergency equipment to help you respond to an emergency situation.
Fire Extinguisher
If there is a small fire and you know how to use a fire extinguisher, follow these steps carefully.
1. Pull the safety pin at the top of the fire extinguisher that holds the handle to prevent accidental discharge.
2. Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire.
3. Stand approximately 2.5 m (8 ft) from the fire and squeeze the handle to discharge the fire extinguisher. If you release the handle, the discharge will stop.
4. Sweep the nozzle from side to side across the base of the fire. After the fire appears to be out, stay outside and watch closely, as it may reignite.
First Aid Kit
First aid supplies such as scissors, bandages, and adhesive tape, etc. are provided.
Warning Triangle
Place the warning triangle on the road to warn oncoming vehicles during emergencies, such as when the vehicle is parked on the roadside due to a problem.
Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensor (if equipped)
Tires normally lose some air during everyday use and you may need to add air periodically. This is usually a sign of normal wear, not a tire leak. Always check tire pressure when the tires are cold, because tire pressure increases with temperature.
To check the tire pressure, perform the following steps:
1. Unscrew the valve cap located on the tire rim.
2. Press the tire pressure gauge onto the tire valve and hold it. Some air will escape when you begin, and more will flow if you do not press the gauge firmly.
3. A firm press without leaks activates the gauge.
4. Read the tire pressure on the gauge to determine whether the tire pressure is low or high.
5. Adjust the tire pressure to the specified value. Refer to "Tires and Wheels" in chapter 8.
6. Reinstall the valve cap.
