Air Intake Control

~1min read

■ Type A

■ Type B

Selects intake of outside (fresh) air or recirculation of cabin air.

To change the airflow setting, press the control button.

Recirculated Air Position

When the recirculation mode is selected, the air inside the vehicle passes through the heater or A/C evaporator to be heated or cooled, depending on the selected function.

Outside (Fresh) Air Position

When the "Outside (Fresh) Air" position is selected, outside air enters the vehicle to be heated or cooled, depending on the selected function.

Information

Prolonged use of the heater in recirculation mode (A/C not activated) may cause the windshield and side windows to fog up. In addition, the air inside the vehicle may become stale. Also, prolonged use of the A/C in recirculation mode causes the air inside the vehicle to become excessively dry.

WARNING

  • Continuous use of the A/C in recirculation mode may increase humidity inside the vehicle and cause fogging, reducing visibility.
  • Do not sleep in a vehicle with the A/C or heater operating. You may suffer serious injury or even death due to a drop in oxygen level and/or body temperature.
  • Prolonged use of the recirculation mode with the A/C off may cause drowsiness or dizziness, leading to loss of vehicle control. Whenever possible, adjust the air intake to outside (fresh) air while driving.
