1. Tailgate Assembly

Repair Procedures

REPLACEMENT

  1. Remove the tailgate upper garnish. (Refer to Tailgate - "Tailgate Garnish")
  2. Remove the luggage compartment side trim. (Refer to Tailgate - "Tailgate Garnish")
  3. Remove the rear door trim. (Refer to Tailgate - "Tailgate Garnish")
  4. Disconnect the upper stop lamp connector (B) and the washer nozzle (B).
  5. Using a flat-tip screwdriver, carefully lift the connector locks (A) at both ends of the tailgate (B).
  6. Disconnect the tailgate connectors and wiring harness (B).
  7. After loosening the mounting bolts, remove the entire tailgate lift support (B).

    Tightening torque: 21.6 ~ 26 N·m

  8. To install, perform the removal procedure in reverse order.
