~1min read
1. Before closing the hood, check the following:
- All engine compartment filler caps must be properly closed.
- Gloves, rags, or any other flammable material must be removed from the engine compartment.
2. Return the prop rod to its holder so that it does not vibrate.
3. Lower the hood halfway and let it fall. Make sure it is latched correctly.
WARNING
- Before closing the hood, make sure nothing is in the way. Attempting to close the hood when something is obstructing it may damage the vehicle or cause serious injury.
- Gloves, rags, or any other flammable material must be removed from the engine compartment, as they may ignite from heat.
- Always check that the hood is securely latched before driving. If it is not latched, the hood may rise while you are driving, causing a complete loss of visibility. You could then have an accident.
- Do not drive the vehicle with the hood raised.
Visibility is obstructed, and the hood may fall or be damaged.
