Repair Procedures

Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the engine cover. (Refer to Engine and Transaxle - "Engine Cover")
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable and the positive battery cable.
  3. Remove the air duct (A).
  4. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose (B) and the heater hose (A).
  5. Disconnect the intake hose (C) and the air filter (D). Tightening torque Hose clamp: 2.9 ~ 4.9 N·m Air filter bolts: 7.8 ~ 9.8 N·m
  6. To install, perform the removal procedure in reverse order.
  7. Pull the collar to open the service cover (A).
  8. Turn the element locking lever in the "UNLOCK" direction to unlock it. Then pull out the element.
  9. Replace the air cleaner element (A) with a new one.
  10. Fully insert the element into the air cleaner. Turn the lever in the "LOCK" direction to securely lock it. Then close the service cover (A).
