Circuit Diagrams

Wiring Diagram

1. Left steering wheel switch (audio + hands-free)
2. Right steering wheel remote switch (cruise control + computer) on board

Repair Procedures

Removal and Installation

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  2. Remove the airbag module from the steering wheel. (Refer to Restraints - "Driver Airbag Module and Switch (DAB)" rotating)
  3. Remove the steering wheel. (Refer to Steering System - "Steering Wheel")
  4. Remove the steering wheel front cover (A) after loosening the screws.
  5. Disconnect the remote control connector on the steering wheel (A).
  6. Remove the steering wheel remote control (A) after loosening the screw.
  7. To install, perform the removal procedure in reverse order.

Inspection

RESISTANCE MEASUREMENT
  1. Disconnect the cruise control switch connector from the control switch.
  2. Measure the resistance between the control switch terminals when the operating switches are on (switch pressed).
    INTERIOR FUNCTION Thick head Resistance
    CANCEL 3 - 4 330 Ω ± 5%
    SET/- 3 - 4 550 Ω ± 5%
    RES/+ 3 - 4 880 Ω ± 5%
    ON→OFF 3 - 4 1.44 kOhm ± 5%
  3. If not within specification, replace the switch.
