Actions to take in an emergency

Emergency Equipment

~1min read

Your vehicle is equipped with equipment intended for use in emergency situations.

Fire Extinguisher

If you encounter a fire and know how to use a fire extinguisher, carefully follow the procedure described below.

1. Remove the safety pin securing the handle.

2. Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire.

3. Stand approximately 8 ft (2.5 m) from the fire and squeeze the handle to discharge the fire extinguisher. If you release the handle, the discharge will stop.

4. Sweep the nozzle across the base of the fire. If the fire appears to be out, watch it closely because it may reignite.

First Aid Kit

This kit contains all necessary first aid supplies, such as scissors, bandages, adhesive tape, and more.

reflective warning triangle

Place the reflective warning triangle on the road to warn other drivers in an emergency, for example, if you need to stop on the shoulder of the road due to a problem.

Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensor (if equipped)

Tires gradually lose pressure, so they must be inflated regularly. This is normal air loss and does not indicate a leak. Always check tire pressure when the tires are cold, since pressure increases with temperature.

Perform the following steps to check the tire pressure:

1. Unscrew the valve cap located on the sidewall of the tire.

2. Place the tire pressure gauge on the valve and hold it in position. Air escapes initially and will continue to escape if you do not press firmly on the tip.

3. Press the gauge firmly to activate it and prevent air leakage.

4. Read the pressure on the gauge to determine whether it is too low or too high.

5. Adjust the pressure to the specified value. Refer to "Tires and Wheels" in Chapter 8.

6. Reinstall the valve cap.
