Information
Fuel economy optimization depends on driving style and road conditions.
When ECO mode is activated:
- Acceleration may be slightly reduced when the accelerator pedal is pressed gently.
- Air conditioning performance may be limited.
- Shifting of the automatic transmission may change.
- The engine may be noisier.
The situations described above are normal: they occur when the ECO system is activated to reduce fuel consumption.
ECO system operating limits:
System operation is limited under the following conditions, even if the ECO indicator does not show any change.
- When engine coolant temperature is low:
System operation is limited until engine performance returns to normal. - When driving uphill:
System operation is limited to maintain power on hills, as the engine torque is limited in ECO mode. - When using the automatic transmission sport mode:
The system is limited according to the selected gear. - When the accelerator pedal is fully pressed for several seconds:
System operation is limited to allow the driver to accelerate.
