Trailer Sway Assist (TSA)

~1min read

Trailer Sway Assist works like a vehicle stability control system. Trailer Sway Assist stabilizes the vehicle and trailer when the trailer sways or oscillates. Be careful when towing a trailer in strong winds, which may cause your trailer to sway excessively. Also, reduce your highway speed when towing a trailer, especially when driving downhill. The weight of the trailer behind your vehicle during downhill driving may cause excessive trailer sway.

Factors that may contribute to excessive trailer sway include:

- Higher vehicle speed
- Strong crosswind
- Improper or uneven trailer loading
- Sudden steering wheel movements in your vehicle
- Uneven or damaged road conditions

Trailer Sway Assist analyzes the condition of the vehicle and trailer while driving. If the system detects excessive trailer sway, the front brakes may be applied automatically to help stabilize the vehicle. In some cases, the brakes may be applied on all wheels and engine power may be reduced to minimize the swaying condition.
