Driving Your Vehicle

Warning Type

~1min read

If a vehicle detected by the sensors approaches you, a warning sound will sound, the outside rearview mirror warning indicator will flash, and a message will appear on the LCD display.

Information

  • If the detected vehicle is not within the detection area of your vehicle, slowly move away from that vehicle to cancel the warning.
  • The system may malfunction in other situations or due to other factors. Always check the surroundings of your vehicle.
  • If the right or left side bumper of your vehicle is covered by an obstacle or another vehicle, the sensor may not operate properly.

WARNING

  • The outside rearview mirror warning indicator illuminates when the system detects a vehicle behind.
To avoid an accident, do not rely solely on the warning indicator and neglect the surroundings of your vehicle.
  • Drive carefully even if your vehicle is equipped with BSD and RCTA systems. Before changing lanes or reversing, check visually without simply relying on the system.
In some cases, the system may not warn the driver; therefore, we recommend careful driving.
  • The Blind-Spot Detection and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert systems are not intended to replace good driving practice. Always drive safely and stay alert when changing lanes or reversing. The Blind-Spot Detection system may not detect all objects near the vehicle.

NOTICE

  • The system may malfunction if the rear bumper is replaced or repair work is performed near the sensor.
  • The detection range depends on road width. On narrow roads, the system may detect vehicles in the adjacent lane.
  • The system may be disabled under the influence of strong electromagnetic waves.
