Power Windows
The ignition switch must be in the ON position to raise or lower the windows. Each door has a power window switch to control the window of that door. The driver's door has a power window lock switch that can disable the rear passenger windows. Power windows will operate for approximately 3 minutes after the ignition switch is turned to the ACC or OFF position. However, if either front door is opened, the power windows cannot be operated even within 3 minutes.
Opening and Closing the Window

To open:
Press the power window switch down to the first detent position (5). Release the switch when you want the window to stop.
Closing:

Auto Up/Down Power Window (if equipped)
Briefly press or pull up the power window switch to the second detent position (6) to fully lower or raise the window even after the switch is released. To stop the window at a desired position during operation, pull up or press down and release the switch.
Resetting the Power Windows
If the power windows do not operate normally, the automatic power window system must be reset as follows:
1. Turn the ignition key to the ON position.
2. Close the window and continue to pull up the power window switch for at least one second. If the power windows do not operate properly after resetting, have the system checked by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
WARNING
The auto reverse function is not activated when the power window system is reset. Before closing the windows, make sure that body parts or other objects are in a safe place to avoid injury or damage to the vehicle.
Automatic Reverse

If the window detects any obstruction during automatic closing, it will stop and lower approximately 12 inches (30 cm) so that the object can be cleared.
If the window detects resistance while the power window switch is continuously pulled up, the window will stop moving up and then lower approximately 1 inch (2.5 cm).
If the power window switch is again continuously pulled up within 5 seconds after the window has lowered by the automatic reverse function, the automatic reverse function will not operate.
Information
The automatic reverse function is active only when the "Auto Up" function is used by fully pulling the switch to the second detent.
NOTICE
Do not install any accessories on the windows. The automatic reverse function may not operate.
WARNING
Before closing, make sure that body parts or other objects are clear of the window to avoid injury or damage to the vehicle.
Objects less than 0.16 in (4 mm) in diameter that are caught between the window glass and the upper window frame may not be detected by the automatic reverse function, and the window will not stop or reverse direction.
Power Window Lock Switch

The driver can disable the power window switches on the rear passenger doors by pressing the power window lock button.
When the power window lock button is pressed:
- The driver's master switch panel can operate all power windows.
- The front passenger control switch can operate the front passenger window.
- The rear passenger control switches cannot operate the rear passenger windows.
* If the power window lock button is pressed (indicator on), the rear passenger cannot open the rear door (if equipped with the Child Safety Lock system).
For more details, refer to "Child Safety Lock System" in this chapter.
WARNING
Do not allow children to play with the power windows. Keep the driver's door power window lock button in the LOCK position. A child may accidentally open a window, which can result in serious injury or death.
NOTICE
- To avoid possible damage to the power window system, do not open or close two or more windows at the same time. This also helps ensure the longevity of the fuse.
- Never attempt to operate the driver's door master switch and the individual door power window switches in opposite directions at the same time. If this is done, the window will stop and cannot be opened or closed.
