Roof Side Rails

~2min read

If your vehicle is equipped with roof side rails, roof rack crossbars can be installed on the roof of your vehicle.

Roof rack crossbars are accessories and are available from your HYUNDAI dealer.

NOTICE

If the vehicle is equipped with a sunroof, do not load cargo on the roof side rails in a way that could interfere with the operation of the sunroof.

NOTICE

  • When carrying cargo on the roof side rails, take the necessary precautions to ensure that the cargo does not damage the vehicle roof.
  • When carrying large items on the roof side rails, make sure they do not exceed the overall length or width of the roof.

WARNING

  • The following specification is the maximum weight that can be loaded onto the roof side rails. Distribute the load as evenly as possible on the roof side rails and secure the cargo firmly. Overloading cargo or luggage beyond the specified maximum weight on the roof side rails may damage your vehicle.
  • The vehicle's center of gravity will be higher when items are loaded on the roof side rails. Avoid sudden starts, braking, sharp turns, abrupt maneuvers, or high speeds, which may cause loss of vehicle control or rollover in an accident.
  • Always drive slowly and turn carefully when carrying items on the roof side rails. Strong upward air currents caused by passing vehicles or natural causes can create sudden upward pressure on items loaded on the roof side rails. This is especially true when carrying large flat items such as wooden panels or mattresses. This may cause items to fall from the rails and damage your vehicle or injure people around you.
  • To prevent damage to or loss of cargo while driving, check regularly before and during driving to make sure items on the roof side rails are securely fastened.
