Wheel nut tightening torque:
Steel and aluminum alloy wheels:
9 - 11 kgf·m (65 - 79 ft-lbf)
If a tire pressure gauge is available, remove the valve cap and check the tire pressure. If the pressure is below specification, drive at low speed to the nearest service station and inflate the tire to the specified value. If it is too high, reduce it to the specified value.
After checking and adjusting the tire pressure, be sure to reinstall the valve cap. Without the cap, air may leak from the tire. If the valve cap is lost, buy a new one and install it as soon as possible.
After replacing the tire, secure the flat tire in its designated place; store the jack and tools in their proper places.
Keep in mind that most wheel nuts have non-metric threads.
Be very careful when checking the thread type before installing wheel nuts or wheels purchased later. If in doubt, consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
WARNING
- Wheel studs
Damaged studs may lose their ability to hold the wheel. This may result in loss of the wheel, collision, and serious injury.
To prevent the jack, jack handle, wheel wrench, and spare tire from rattling, stow them properly.
WARNING
- Incorrect tire pressure in the spare tire
Check the tire pressure as soon as possible after installing the spare tire.
If necessary, adjust it to the specified value. Refer to Section 8 "Tires and Wheels".
