Removal

When removing the high-pressure fuel pump, high-pressure fuel line, delivery pipe, or injector, injury may occur due to high-pressure fuel leakage. Do not perform repair work immediately after stopping the engine.
  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  2. Release the fuel line residual pressure. (Refer to Fuel System - "Release Fuel Line Residual Pressure")
When the fuel pump fuse is removed, a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored. Clear the DTC with GDS after completing the "Relieve Residual Fuel Pressure in Fuel Line" procedure.
  3. Remove the intake manifold. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Intake Manifold")
  4. Remove the injector insulator (A).
  5. Disconnect the injector connectors (A) and the rail pressure sensor connector (B).
  6. Remove the high-pressure fuel pipe (C).
  7. Remove the mounting bolt (D), then remove the delivery pipe and injectors from the engine.

Installation

  • Do not reuse the injector retainer.
  • Install the component with the specified torque.
  • Note that internal damage may occur if the component is dropped. In this case, inspect it before use.
  • Apply engine oil to the O-ring of the injector.
  • Do not reuse the injector O-ring.
  • Do not reuse the bolt.
  • When inserting the injector, be careful not to damage the injector tip.
  • When tightening the delivery pipe mounting bolts, tighten them in the sequence ( > > > ) after hand-tightening them to the specified torque.
  1. Install in the reverse order of removal. Delivery pipe mounting bolt: 18.6 ~ 24 N·m High-pressure fuel pipe nut: 26.5 ~ 32 N·m
