Head Restraint

~1min read

The front and rear seats have adjustable head restraints. They are designed for occupant comfort, but more importantly, they protect occupants from whiplash and other neck and spine injuries in a collision, especially in a rear impact.

WARNING

To reduce the risk of serious injury or death in an accident, observe the following precautions when adjusting head restraints:

  • Always adjust the headrests correctly for all passengers BEFORE driving the vehicle.
  • NEVER allow anyone to ride in a seat with the head restraint removed.
  • Adjust the head restraints so that the center of the head restraints is at the same height as the top of the eyes (see illustration).
  • NEVER adjust the driver's seat headrest position while the vehicle is moving.
  • Adjust the headrest as close as possible to the passenger's head. Do not use a cushion that keeps the body away from the seatback.
  • Make sure the head restraint is locked in the desired position after adjusting it.

CAUTION

To avoid damage, NEVER strike or pull on the head restraints.
