Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) prevents the vehicle from rolling backward when starting on an uphill grade. The system controls the brakes automatically for approximately 2 seconds and releases the brake when the accelerator pedal is pressed or after 2 seconds.

WARNING

Always be ready to press the accelerator pedal when starting on a slope. HAC is active for approximately 2 seconds.

✽ NOTICE

  • HAC does not operate when the shift lever is in P (Park) or N (Neutral).
  • HAC operates even when ESC (Electronic Stability Control) is turned off, but it does not operate if the ESC is malfunctioning.
