Head restraints are designed to reduce the risk of injury by limiting head movement in the event of a rear impact. Head restraints must be adjusted so that the top of the head restraint is above the top of the ear.

  • All occupants, including the driver, must not operate or ride in the vehicle until the head restraints are adjusted correctly to minimize the risk of neck injury in a crash.
  • Never adjust the head restraints while the vehicle is in motion. Driving with head restraints that are improperly adjusted or removed may result in serious injury or death in the event of a crash.
