- Press the SOS Call button on the overhead console.
NOTE:
If the SOS Call button was pressed by mistake, there is a 10-second delay before the SOS signal is sent. The Call System initiates the call to the SOS operator.
To cancel an SOS Call connection, press the SOS Call button on the overhead console or press the cancel button on the Screen. Ending the SOS Call will turn off the green LED on the overhead console.
- The LED indicator located inside the ASSIST and SOS buttons on the overhead console will illuminate green once the connection to the SOS operator is made.
- Once the connection between the vehicle and the SOS operator is established, the SOS Call system may transmit the following important vehicle information to the SOS operator:
- An indication that an occupant has placed an SOS Call
- Vehicle make
- Last known GPS coordinates of the vehicle
- You should be able to speak with the SOS operator through the vehicle audio system to determine whether additional assistance is needed.
NOTE:
- Your vehicle may transmit data as authorized by the subscriber.
- After the connection is established between the vehicle SOS Call system and the SOS operator system, the SOS operator may be able to establish a voice connection with the vehicle to determine whether additional assistance is needed. Once the SOS operator opens voice communication with the vehicle SOS Call system, the operator should be able to speak with you or other occupants of the vehicle and hear sounds occurring inside the vehicle. The vehicle SOS Call system will attempt to remain connected with the SOS operator until the SOS operator disconnects the call.
- The SOS operator may attempt to contact appropriate emergency services and provide them with important vehicle information and GPS coordinates.
- If anyone in the vehicle may be in danger (for example, fire or smoke is visible, dangerous road conditions, or location), do not wait for voice contact from the emergency services operator. All occupants should exit the vehicle immediately and move to a safe location.
- Never place anything on or near the vehicle's cellular network and GPS antennas. You may prevent the cellular network and GPS signal reception from functioning, which may interfere with your vehicle's ability to place an emergency call. The cellular network and GPS signal reception are required for the SOS Call system to operate correctly.
- The SOS Call system is integrated into the vehicle electrical system. Do not add aftermarket electrical equipment to the vehicle electrical system. This may prevent your vehicle from sending a signal to initiate an emergency call. To avoid interference that could cause the SOS Call system to malfunction, never add secondary equipment (such as two-way mobile radio, CB radio, data recorder, etc.) to the vehicle electrical system or modify the antennas on your vehicle. IF YOUR VEHICLE LOSES BATTERY POWER FOR ANY REASON (INCLUDING DURING OR AFTER A CRASH), UCONNECT FEATURES, APPLICATIONS, AND SERVICES, AMONG OTHERS, WILL NOT OPERATE.
- Modifications to any part of the SOS Call system may cause the airbag system to fail when you need it. You may be injured if the airbag system does not help protect you.
