Active ECO System

~1min read

Active ECO Mode

Active ECO helps improve fuel efficiency by controlling the engine and transmission. However, fuel efficiency may be affected by the driver's driving habits and road conditions.

  • When the Active ECO button is pressed, the ECO indicator (green) illuminates to show that Active ECO is operating.
  • If Active ECO is turned off, the system returns to normal mode.

When Active ECO is activated:

  • Acceleration may be slightly reduced even when the accelerator pedal is fully depressed.
  • Air conditioning performance may be limited.
  • The shift pattern of the automatic transmission/dual clutch transmission may change.

The above conditions are normal when the Active ECO system is activated to improve fuel efficiency.

Active ECO operation limitations:

If the following conditions occur while Active ECO is operating, system operation is limited even if the ECO indicator has not changed.

  • When the engine coolant temperature is low: system operation will be limited until engine performance returns to normal.
  • When driving uphill: The system will limit the power increase when driving uphill, because engine torque is limited.
  • When using Sport mode: The system will limit shift changes depending on the situation.
  • When the accelerator pedal is depressed deeply for several seconds: the system will be limited based on the driver's intention to accelerate.
