Cruise Control System

~1min read

1. Cruise Indicator

2. Cruise Control Indicator

The cruise control system allows the vehicle to be programmed to maintain a constant speed without depressing the accelerator pedal.

This system is designed to operate at speeds above approximately 30 km/h.

WARNING

  • If the cruise control remains on (cruise control indicator illuminated), cruise control may be activated accidentally. Keep the cruise control system off when cruise control is not in use to avoid unintended speed changes.
  • Use the cruise control system only when driving on open highways in good weather.
  • Do not use Cruise Control when it is unsafe to maintain a constant speed, such as in heavy or changing traffic, on slippery (wet, icy, or snow-covered) or winding roads, or on downhill grades of more than 6%.
  • Pay special attention to driving conditions when using the Cruise Control system.
  • Be careful when driving downhill with the Cruise Control system, as it may increase the vehicle speed.

CAUTION

When driving at a cruising speed with a manual transmission, do not shift to neutral without depressing the clutch pedal, as the engine speed will increase excessively. In this case, depress the clutch pedal or release the Cruise Control switch.

✽ NOTICE

  • During normal operation of cruise control, when the SET switch is activated or when resuming after braking, cruise control will engage after approximately 3 seconds. This delay is normal.
  • To activate Cruise Control, depress the brake pedal at least once after turning the ignition switch to the ON position or starting the engine. This is to check that the brake switch, which is an important part of cancelling Cruise Control, is in normal condition.
