Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS)

~1min read

This system recognizes the lane using a sensor on the windshield and warns you when your vehicle departs from the lane.

WARNING

  • LDWS does not steer the vehicle back into the lane. It is the driver's responsibility to always check the road conditions.
  • Do not turn the steering wheel abruptly when the LDWS warns you that your vehicle is departing from the lane.
  • If the sensor cannot recognize the lane, or if the vehicle speed does not exceed 60 km/h, the LDWS will not warn you even if the vehicle departs from the lane.
  • If your vehicle has tinted windows or other types of coatings and accessories on the windshield, the LDWS may not operate properly.
  • Do not allow water or any other liquid to get on the LDWS sensor.
  • Do not remove LDWS components or subject the sensor to strong impact.
  • Do not place reflective objects on the instrument panel.
  • Always check the road conditions, because you may not hear the warning sound due to audio and outside noise.

To turn on the LDWS, press the switch with the ignition switched ON. The indicator light on the instrument cluster illuminates. To turn off the LDWS, press the switch again.

Selecting this symbol on the LCD display will show the LDWS mode.

If your vehicle departs from the lane while the LDWS is operating and the vehicle speed exceeds 60 km/h, the warning operates as follows:

1. Visual warning

If you depart from the lane, the lane you are leaving flashes yellow on the LCD display at 0.8 second intervals.

2. Audible warning

If you depart from the lane, the warning sound activates at 0.8 second intervals.

The color of the symbol changes depending on the LDWS status.

- White: This indicates the sensor does not detect the lane marking.

- Green: This indicates the sensor detects the lane marking.
