The rear parking assist system assists the driver when backing up the vehicle by sounding a warning tone if an object is detected within 120 cm (47 in.) behind the vehicle. This system is supplemental and is not intended to replace the driver's caution and attention when backing up.

The detection range and the objects detectable by the rear sensors are limited. Always pay the same attention to what is behind you when backing up as you would if your vehicle did not have a rear parking assist system.

WARNING

The Rear Parking Assist System is only a supplementary function. Operation of the rear parking assist system may be affected by several factors (including environmental conditions). The driver is always responsible for checking the area behind the vehicle before and while reversing.
