If the driver turns the ignition key ON or starts the engine with the driver's seat belt unfastened, the seat belt warning light will remain on until the driver fastens the seat belt, and the warning chime will sound for 6 seconds. If the driver turns the ignition on or starts the engine with the seat belt fastened, the warning light will come on for 6 seconds and the warning chime will sound. The warning may not be heard.

When driving below 20 km/h with the driver's seat belt unfastened, the warning light will remain on. When driving at 20 km/h and above with the seat belt unfastened, the warning light will flash and the warning chime will continue for 100 seconds.

If the driver unfastens the seat belt while driving at speeds below 20 km/h, the warning light will illuminate. It will remain on; at speeds of 20 km/h and above, the warning light will flash and the warning chime will sound for approximately 100 seconds.
