Inspection

  1. Check the condenser fins for blockage and damage. If blocked, wash them with water and blow out with compressed air. If bent, carefully straighten them using a screwdriver or pliers.
  2. Check the condenser connections for leaks and repair or replace them as necessary.

Replacement

  1. Charge the refrigerant using the refrigerant recovery/recycling/charging station.
    1. Do not use the same A/C recovery/charging station as for conventional belt-driven compressors.
    2. Because the electric compressor uses high voltage, PVE oil with high volume resistivity must be used.
    3. If mixed oil PAG enters the PVE or POE oil of the system, dielectric breakdown may occur due to a decrease in volume resistivity, and the A/C compressor may not operate.
  2. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
  3. Disconnect the discharge line and liquid line (A) from the condenser.

Plug or cover the lines immediately after disconnecting them to prevent moisture and dust from entering.
  4. Disconnect the mounting clip, then remove the air duct hose assembly (A).
  5. Loosen the radiator bracket mounting bolts (A).
  6. Remove the radiator fan. (Refer to EM group - "Radiator")
  7. Disconnect the pin (A) and remove the condenser (C) from the radiator (B).
  8. Install in the reverse order of removal, paying attention to the following items:
    • If installing a new condenser, add ND-OIL8 refrigerant oil.
    • Replace the O-rings with new ones at each fitting and apply a thin coat of refrigerant oil before installation. Be sure to use the correct O-rings for R-134a to prevent leakage.
    • Be careful not to damage the radiator and condenser fins when installing the condenser.
    • Make sure the lower condenser support cushions are securely seated in the holes.
    • Charge the system and check that it operates properly.
