Replace battery

The hand transmitter contains a 3 V lithium battery, which normally does not need to be replaced for several years. When replacing the battery, do the following:
1. Insert a thin object into the groove of the housing and carefully pry the hand transmitter housing apart.
2. Replace the battery with a new one (CR2032). When replacing the battery, pay attention to its orientation.
3. Reassemble the battery in the reverse order of disassembly.
Have the remote control replaced by a Kia dealer or service partner.
DANGER
- The hand transmitter is designed to operate reliably for many years. However, interference may occur when it is exposed to moisture or electrostatic charge. If you are not sure how to use or replace the battery, contact a Kia dealer or service partner.
- Using the wrong battery may cause the remote control or Smart Key (if equipped) to malfunction. Make sure the correct battery is installed.
- To avoid damage to the hand transmitter or Smart Key, do not drop it or get it wet, and do not expose it to excessive heat or direct sunlight.
DANGER
Improper disposal of batteries can be harmful to the environment and to health. Dispose of the battery properly according to local laws or regulations.
