Opening the Tailgate

• The tailgate locks and unlocks together with the doors when the doors are locked or unlocked with the remote key (or smart key) or the central door lock switch.
• To open the unlocked tailgate, press the handle and lift the tailgate.
• When all doors are locked and the tailgate unlock button on the smart key is pressed for longer than one second, the tailgate unlocks. If the tailgate is opened and closed again, it automatically locks.

❈ The key does not turn.

NOTICE

In cold and wet weather conditions, the door lock and the latch mechanism may be affected by ice.

WARNING

The tailgate rises when opened. Make sure no objects or people are near the tailgate when opening it.

DANGER

Make sure the tailgate is closed before driving. The tailgate struts and mounting parts may be damaged if the tailgate is not fully closed before driving.
