Heating and Air Conditioning

1. Start the engine.
2. Select the desired ventilation mode. To improve heating and air conditioning efficiency:
- Heating:
- Cooling:
3. Set the temperature control to the desired position.
4. Set the fresh/recirculated air control to fresh air.
5. Set the desired fan speed.
6. If you want air conditioning, turn on the A/C (if equipped).
Mode Selection

The mode selector controls the direction of airflow in the ventilation system. Air can be directed to the footwell, the instrument panel vents, and the windshield. There are five ventilation modes: face area, face and footwell area, footwell area only, footwell and windshield, and windshield defrost.
Face Area (B, D)

Airflow is directed to the upper body and face. In addition, the air vents can be adjusted to redirect the airflow from the vents.
Bi-Level (B, D, C, E)

The airflow is directed to the head area and the footwell.
Footwell (C, E, A, D)

Most of the airflow is directed to the footwell, and a small part is directed to the windshield and side window defrosters.
Footwell/windshield (A, C, G, D)

Most of the airflow is directed to the footwell and windshield, and a small part is directed to the side window vents.
Windshield Defrost

Most of the airflow is directed to the windshield, and a small part is directed to the side window vents.
Instrument Panel Vents

The vents can be used separately. The airflow can be opened and closed by turning the wheel. To close the outlet, turn the wheel. Slide the lever down to the maximum position.
In addition, the direction of airflow from these vents can be changed by adjusting the adjustment lever, see illustration.
Temperature Control

Use this knob to adjust the temperature of the air discharged from the outlets. To change the cabin temperature, turn the knob clockwise for warm or hot air, and counterclockwise for cooler air.
Fresh/Recirculated Air Control Switch

The fresh/recirculated air control is used to select the fresh air or recirculation position. To change the position of the fresh/recirculated air control, press the button.
Recirculation Position

When the recirculation position is selected, air from the passenger compartment is circulated through the heating and cooling system and heated or cooled according to the selected function.
Fresh Air Position

When the fresh air position is selected, outside air is drawn into the vehicle and heated or cooled according to the selected function.
NOTICE
Running the heater continuously in the recirculation position (with A/C off) may cause the windows to fog up, and the air inside the vehicle may become stuffy. In addition, prolonged use of the A/C in the recirculation position causes excessively dry air in the passenger compartment.
WARNING
- Continuous use of the A/C in the recirculation position may cause moisture inside the vehicle to build up, causing the windows to fog and reducing visibility.
- Do not sleep in the vehicle with the A/C or heating system on. This may cause a drop in oxygen content or body temperature, resulting in serious injury or death.
- Continuous use of the A/C in the recirculation position may cause drowsiness or fatigue and loss of control of the vehicle. Drive in fresh air mode as much as possible so that outside air is supplied.
Blower Speed Control

The blower can only operate when the ignition is switched on.
Use this knob to adjust the blower speed and control the airflow through the air outlets. To increase blower speed, turn the knob clockwise. To decrease blower speed, turn the knob counterclockwise.
The blower is in the "0" position, OFF.
Blower Off

To turn the blower off, turn the blower speed control knob to the "0" position.
Air Conditioning (A/C)

Press the A/C button to turn on the air conditioning. The indicator light in the switch illuminates when the A/C is on. To turn off the A/C, press the A/C button again.
