Seat Belt Care

Seat belt systems must never be disassembled or modified. Also make sure that the belt webbing and other seat belt components are not damaged by seat hinges, doors, or other causes.

WARNING

• When returning a previously folded-forward rear seatback to the upright position, be careful not to damage the belt webbing or buckle. Make sure the belt webbing and buckle are not pinched or crushed in the rear seat. A damaged belt webbing or buckle could fail in a collision or sudden braking and cause serious injury. If belt webbing or buckles are damaged, have them replaced immediately.
• In a vehicle parked in the sun with the windows closed, seat belts can become very hot. This may cause burns to infants and children.

All seat belts must be inspected at regular intervals for wear and damage of any kind. Any damaged part must be replaced as soon as possible.

Gurte sauber und trocken halten

Keep seat belts clean and dry. If belts become dirty, clean them with a mild cleaning solution and warm water. Do not use bleach, dyes, harsh cleaning agents, or abrasive cleaners, as they can damage and weaken the webbing.

Replace Seat Belts?

All seat belts that were under load during an accident must be completely replaced. This must also be done if no damage is visible. In this case, have the system replaced by a qualified workshop. Kia recommends that you contact a Kia dealer/service partner.
