WARNING

Loose Objects

Loose objects located in the driver's footwell could interfere with the operation of the pedals and may cause an accident. Do not place objects under the front seat.

WARNING

Sitz aufrichten

When returning a seatback upright, hold the seatback. Return the seatback slowly and make sure no one is within the seatback's swing range. If a seatback is returned upright without being held, it may swing forward and strike a person.

WARNING

Driver's Responsibility for Passengers

If a seatback is reclined far rearward while driving, it could cause serious or fatal injury in an accident. In a collision with a far-reclined seatback, the occupant's hips may slide under the lap belt, and great force may be applied to the unprotected abdomen, causing serious or fatal injury. The driver must instruct passengers to keep the seatback upright while driving.

WARNING

Do not use seat cushions, as they reduce friction between the seat and occupant. In an accident or sudden stop, the occupant's hips could slide under the lap belt, causing serious or fatal internal injuries because the seat belt will not function properly.

WARNING

Driver's Seat

  • Never attempt to adjust the seat while driving. You could lose control of the vehicle. This could result in death, serious injury, or damage.
  • Do not allow objects to obstruct the seatback so that it cannot be returned to its normal position. If cargo presses against a seatback or prevents it from locking properly, it could cause serious or fatal injury in a sudden stop or collision.
  • Always drive with the seatback upright and secure the seat belt lap portion low across the hips. This is the best position to protect you in an accident.
  • To avoid unnecessary and possibly serious injury from airbags, always take a seating position as far from the steering wheel as possible while still allowing comfortable operation of the vehicle. You should keep your chest at least 250 mm (10 in.) from the steering wheel.

WARNING

Rear Seatbacks

  • Rear seatbacks must be securely latched. If they are not latched, occupants or objects may be thrown forward in a sudden stop or collision. This could result in serious or fatal injury.
  • Luggage and other cargo must be properly secured in the cargo area. If items are large or heavy or must be stacked, they must be secured. Under no circumstances should cargo be stacked higher than the headrests. Failure to follow these warnings could result in serious or fatal injury in a sudden stop, collision, or vehicle rollover.
  • While driving, passengers must not be in the cargo area or sit or lie on folded seatbacks. While driving, all occupants must be properly seated and properly belted.
  • When returning a seatback to the upright position, make sure it is securely latched by pushing the seatback forward and backward.
  • To prevent possible burns or fire, do not remove the floor covering from the cargo area. The exhaust system under this floor becomes very hot.

WARNING

Each time after adjusting the seat, check that it is securely locked in place. To do this, try to move the seat forward or backward without operating the release lever. A sudden or unexpected movement of the driver's seat could cause you to lose control of the vehicle, which could result in an accident.

WARNING

  • Seien Sie äußerst vorsichtig, damit Sie beim Verschieben des Sitzes Ihre Hände oder andere Gegenstände nicht im Sitzmechanismus einklemmen.
  • Do not place a cigarette lighter on the floor or seat. When operating the seat, gas from the lighter may leak and cause a fire.
  • When a passenger is sitting in the rear seat, be careful when adjusting the front seat position.
  • Be extremely careful when reaching for small objects under the seat or between the seat and center console. Your hand may be cut by sharp edges of the seat mechanism.
  • Leather is made from animal hides that are specially treated for later use. Since leather is a natural material, each piece differs in thickness and density. Wrinkles are a natural result of stretching and shrinking depending on temperature and humidity.
  • Der Sitz besteht zur Verbesserung des Komforts aus dehnbarem Gewebe.
  • The parts that contact the body are contoured, and the side bolsters are raised to provide side support and thus driving comfort and stability.
  • Wrinkles occur as a natural result of use. This is not a product defect.

WARNING

  • Wrinkles or abrasion marks caused by normal use are not covered by the warranty.
  • Belts with metal fittings as well as zippers or keys in back pockets may damage the seat cover.
  • Make sure the seat does not get wet. This may change the properties of natural leather.
  • Jeans or clothing that may transfer color can stain the surface of the seat cover.
