If the Engine Does Not Start
If the engine does not turn over or turns over slowly
1. If your vehicle has an automatic or dual clutch transmission, make sure the selector lever is in Neutral (N) or Park (P) and the parking brake is applied.
2. Check that the battery terminals are clean and tightly connected to the battery posts.
3. Turn on the interior lights. If the lights dim or go out when you operate the starter, the battery is discharged.
4. Prüfen Sie die Anlasseranschlüsse, um sicher zu sein, dass sie fest sitzen.
5. Do not push or tow the vehicle to start the engine. Refer to the section "Jump Starting" on page 7-05.
WARNING
If the engine does not start, do not push or tow the vehicle. This could result in a collision with other vehicles. Also, pushing or towing may overload the catalytic converter with a large amount of unburned fuel, which could cause a fire.
When the starter turns normally but the engine does not respond
1. Prüfen Sie den Kraftstoffstand.
2. With the ignition key in the LOCK position, check the connectors of the ignition coils and spark plugs. Reconnect any disconnected or partially loose connectors.
3. Check the fuel line in the engine compartment.
4. If the engine still does not start, contact a repair shop. Kia recommends contacting a Kia dealer/service partner.
