If a malfunction occurs while driving
When the vehicle stalls at an intersection or while crossing railway tracks
- If the vehicle stalls at an intersection or while crossing railway tracks, shift the gear lever to Neutral (N) and then push the vehicle to a safe location.
- If your vehicle has no ignition lock and a manual transaxle, the vehicle can be moved forward by engaging 2nd (second) or 3rd (third) gear, then operating the starter without depressing the clutch pedal.
If you have a tire puncture while driving
If a tire loses air while driving:
1. Release the accelerator pedal and let the vehicle coast straight ahead. Do not brake suddenly and do not try to move the vehicle off the road quickly, as you may lose control of the vehicle. Brake gently only when the vehicle speed has been reduced sufficiently and it is safe to do so, then drive the vehicle off the road. Park the vehicle as far as possible from the road on firm, level ground. When driving on an expressway/motorway, do not park the vehicle on the median strip.
2. When the vehicle has come to a stop, turn on the hazard warning flasher, apply the parking brake, and place the selector lever in Park (P) for a vehicle with automatic or dual clutch transmission, or engage reverse gear for a vehicle with manual transmission.
3. Make sure all occupants leave the vehicle. Make sure all occupants exit on the side away from the traffic lane.
4. In case of a tire puncture, follow the instructions in the section "Flat Tire" on page 7-15.
Wenn der Motor während der Fahrt absauft
1. Gradually reduce speed and drive straight ahead. Carefully steer the vehicle to a safe location away from the road.
2. Schalten Sie die Warnblinker ein.
3. Try to restart the engine. If the vehicle does not start, contact a repair shop. Kia recommends contacting a Kia dealer/service partner.
