Blind-Spot Detection (BSD) System

~1min read

The Blind-Spot Detection (BSD) system uses radar sensors in the rear bumper to monitor and warn the driver of approaching vehicles in the driver's blind spot area.

The system monitors the rear area of the vehicle and provides information to the driver with an audible alert and an indicator on the outside rearview mirrors.

➀BSD (Blind-Spot Detection) The blind-spot detection range varies depending on vehicle speed. Note that if your vehicle is traveling much faster than surrounding vehicles, a warning will not be given.

➁LCA (Lane Change Assist) The Lane Change Assist function warns you of an approaching vehicle in the adjacent lane traveling at high speed. If the driver activates the turn signal when the system detects an approaching vehicle, the system sounds an audible warning. The warning timing changes depending on the speed difference between your vehicle and the approaching vehicle.

➂RCTA (Rear Cross-Traffic Alert) The Rear Cross-Traffic Alert function monitors approaching cross traffic from the left and right sides of the vehicle when your vehicle is moving in reverse. The function operates when the vehicle reverse speed is below 10 km/h. If cross traffic is detected, a warning sound will sound. The warning timing depends on the speed difference between your vehicle and the approaching vehicle.

WARNING

  • Always be aware of road conditions while driving and remain alert even in unexpected situations, although the Blind-Spot Detection system is operating.
  • The Blind-Spot Detection (BSD) system does not replace proper and safe driving. Always drive safely and use caution when changing lanes or backing up the vehicle. The Blind-Spot Detection (BSD) system may not detect every object near the vehicle.
