The driver's optimal seat position can be stored in the power seat control unit with IMS software, which allows the driver's set seat position to be recalled. For safety reasons, the recall function is prohibited during driving. Emergency stop function of recall and operation interlock, and Input specification
  1. IGN2 input. IGN switch input is determined by the local "IGN2" switch.
  2. SEAT MANUAL switch: SEAT input
    1. SLIDE front/rear, RR manual switch. Operates the SEAT slide motor forward or backward.
    2. RECLINE front/rear, RR switch. Operates the seat recline motor forward or backward.
    3. Front/rear HEIGHT manual switch UP/DOWN. Operates the front/rear SEAT height motor up or down.
    4. RR height manual switch UP/DOWN. Operates the RR SEAT height motor up or down.
  3. SEAT POSITION sensor (pulse signal) Detection of number of movements in slide, recline, front and rear height, and rear height motor
  4. Door switch. Detects that the driver door is opening.
  5. Speed This signal is received to determine the vehicle speed by the BCM.
  6. IMS switch
    1. SET switch. Enables storing the SEAT position set by the driver.
    2. 1, 2 switch. Stores and recalls the SEAT position set by the driver.

Operation

Control specification
  1. Manual Operation
    1. MANUAL seat control The seat is controlled by the MANUAL switch. Seat input. SLIDE, RECLINE, front and rear height and rear right height are available for manual control with IGN2 ON regardless of ECU B+ OFF.
  2. MEMORY storage operation
    1. Memory storage permission This process is allowed if the IGN2 switch = ON and the SPEED input is high (less than 3 km/h). 1 BUZZER output is generated from IMS by receiving DATA, "SET = 1".
    2. Memory Storage Operation
When MEM_1 or MEM_2 data is received from the IMS switch via LIN DATA communication, generated by operating switch 1 or 2 in memory access mode described above, the BUZZER outputs 2 times and the current seat position is stored. (The IMS switch transmits the storage command only if switch 1 or 2 input is generated within 5 seconds after the SET switch is turned OFF->ON. The storage permission mode is cancelled if more than 5 seconds have elapsed.)
    3. Memory Storage Requirements
MEMORY storage is not permitted or is cancelled if all of the following requirements are not met.
      • Ignition ON
      • Vehicle speed input received from the BCM is high (less than 3 km/h)
      • Less than 5 seconds have elapsed since the SET switch was turned OFF->ON (determined by the IMS switch)
    4. The SET switch must be available for memory storage regardless of the number of SET operations. (However, each operation of the MEMORY switch provides only 1 memory storage action.)
    5. If a MEMORY command is received during Quick Access operation or Memory Playback, the operation is stopped and the current position is stored. If the command is received while the manual SEAT switch is operating, the position is stored where the memory command was received.
  3. Memory Playback
When "1" is received from the IMS switch via DATA PL_1 or PL_2 LIN communication, generated by operating switch 1 or 2, the BUZZER outputs 1 time and the SEAT position is automatically controlled, moving back to the position stored in MEMORY.
  4. Anti-Reproduction Memory playback is not permitted unless the following conditions are met. The IMS switch will play back memory only if all of ① and ② are satisfied, and either ③ or ④ is also satisfied.
① Vehicle speed input received from the BCM is high (less than 3 km/h).
② The manual SEAT switch is not operating.
③ Switches 1 and 2 of the IMS switch are turned on while the driver's door is open, or within 30 seconds after the driver's door is closed.
    ④ Ignition is ON.
  5. Stopping memory playback: Memory playback stops if any of the following conditions are met.
    • The "P" position switch of the local switch is in the PARKING position.
    • Vehicle speed input received from the BCM is high (less than 3 km/h).
    • Target engine position not reached
    • MANUAL SEAT switch is not operated. The BUZZER output is used so the USER can recognize playback by another unit, regardless of whether the MANUAL SEAT switch is in the ON position.
    • SET switch does not operate
  6. Other
    1. If memory is not stored, playback will not be activated by the 1 or 2 switch and the BUZZER output is generated.
    2. If other DATA (playback command) is received during memory playback, the most recently received signal will be played back.
    3. If the SEAT MANUAL switch input is used during seat position playback, the activation must be stopped completely.
    4. If an ERROR occurs during SEAT operation, the memory of the corresponding motor will be cleared.
  7. Motor Control
    1. To prevent inrush current duplication while driving the motor, automatic control of the drive motor delays each drive by 100 ms, in the following priority: SLIDE > TILT > Front height > Rear height > Rear right height.
    2. In the case of the playback process, the drive motors operate in the following order, with a DELAY TIME between each motor as follows.
TIME values for each continuously operating motor (excluding operation with the MANUAL switch): SLIDE: 20 seconds, TILT: 35 seconds, Front and rear height: 10 seconds, Rear right height: 15 seconds.
    3. Reverse motor control: If reverse motor movement is required during Easy Access function operation or the playback process, forward movement is stopped immediately and reverse movement will start after 100 ms.
    4. If the distance difference between the stored playback position and the current position is below the nominal value, the motor does not operate regardless of receiving playback DATA. * SLIDE, RECLINE, front/rear HEIGHT, rear right HEIGHT: 12EDGE (6PULSE)
    5. Operation stops when the motor reaches the target position during Quick Access control or the playback process.
  8. If the "SET" switch is pressed for more than 6 seconds, the Quick Access function can be set/cancelled using AUTO_SET. (2 buzzer outputs when setting / 1 buzzer output when cancelling)
  9. If the "BCM KEY IN" signal from the BCM and the "LOCAL KEY IN" signal change from "LOW" (KEY IN) to "HIGH" (KEY OFF) when this key is removed, KEY IN→OUT and DRIVER DOOR OPEN SIDE SLIDE moves 50 mm back from the KEY OUT position.
  10. When the "BCM KEY IN" signal from the BCM or the "LOCAL KEY IN" signal changes from "HIGH" (KEY OFF) to "LOW" (KEY IN) by inserting the KEY, it moves to the KEY OUT position.
  11. Prohibition and stop of Easy Access operation. The following requirements are determined and monitored by the IMS. If one of the following conditions occurs during anti-operation or the operation process, it is stopped.
    1. "P" position switch is not ON (If the "P" position switch is turned OFF during operation, the operation is completed.)
    2. Vehicle "SPEED" data transmitted from the BCM is LOW (more than 3 km/h).
    3. MANUAL SEAT switch is in operation
    4. Playback command is received during easy access operation
    5. "AUTO_SET" DATA transmitted from the IMS switch is "OFF". (If "AUTO_SET" changes during operation, the operation is completed.)
    6. The SET message transmitted from the IMS switch is "1" during Quick Access operation.
  12. If control is stopped during backward movement, the backward action stops without moving further. When returning, it moves the same distance it previously moved backward.
  13. If the MANUAL switch input operates during or after backward movement, it will move to the KEY OUT position during Quick Access controlled by KEY IN.
  14. Driver seat position memory recall conditions in the vehicle
    1. MANUAL switch operates above Key IN
    2. Memory playback in operation
  15. The LIMIT position is set randomly as follows, since there is no SLIDE, TILT, rear right height switch, and front/rear switch LIMIT.
    1. Control is stopped immediately and the position before 6 pulses is set as the movement LIMIT position if more than 6 PULSE is not generated within 2 seconds during initial operation in MANUAL mode by switch or Quick Access function after battery installation. (The LIMIT position in the reverse direction is the same as above.) However, the LIMIT position for front/rear upper and rear right height is set if more than 6 PULSE is not generated within 1 second.
    2. If a virtual LIMIT is set, MEMORY playback does not operate beyond the LIMIT to prevent motor damage by the mechanical LOCK.
    3. If a PULSE is correctly input beyond the LIMIT by MANUAL operation or by the Quick Access function with a previously set LIMIT applied, the LIMIT position is updated.
  16. ERROR position detection: ERROR is monitored if the following situation occurs during Quick Access operation, the playback process, and manual switch operation of each motor.
    1. ERROR caused by PULSE is not input.
The corresponding motor output is stopped if an ERROR is detected during playback and Quick Access control. The corresponding motor output is stopped if an ERROR is found in MANUAL operation.
    2. The SEAT Vcc sensor is detected for a full 40 ms from less than 1 V. => Returns if the SEAT Vcc sensor voltage exceeds 7 V. If the SEAT Vcc sensor ERROR is detected during playback and easy access, all operating SEAT motors are stopped. (BUZZER output does not operate.)
  17. ERROR Monitoring: If an ERROR is detected as shown above, it is considered to be caused by a damaged WIRE HARNESS or a faulty sensor, and is controlled as follows.
    • The BUZZER output operates during reception, storage, and playback of the command regardless of whether an ERROR occurs.
    • Power-operated seat memory and easy-entry functions are suspended. The memory function is reactivated by the MEMORY command after the seat motor fault is repaired, as follows. (When the SLIDE motor is repaired after a sensor fault, the easy-entry function is available.) SEAT: 6 pulses are entered correctly after the fault that causes the motor position sensor to be lost, by holding the MANUAL switch for 2 seconds (SLIDE, TILT) / 1 second (front height, rear height, rear right height).
