NORMAL MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE - EXCEPT EUROPE (INCLUDING RUSSIA). The following maintenance items must be performed to ensure good emission control and performance. Keep receipts for all emission-related services to protect your warranty. Where mileage and time are specified, the service interval is determined by whichever occurs first.

*1 Inspect the drive belt tensioner, idler pulley and alternator pulley, adjust or replace if necessary.
*2 Check the engine oil level and for leaks every 500 km (350 miles) or before starting a long trip.
*3 The engine oil level must be checked regularly and maintained at the proper level. Operating with insufficient oil may damage the engine, and such damage is not covered by the warranty.
*4 This maintenance schedule depends on fuel quality. It applies only when qualified fuel <"EN590 or equivalent"> is used. If the diesel fuel does not meet EN590 specifications, it must be replaced more frequently.
If there are any important safety concerns, such as restricted fuel flow, surging, loss of power, starting problems, etc., replace the fuel filter immediately regardless of the maintenance schedule, and we recommend that you consult an authorized Kia dealer for details.
*5 For your convenience, it may be replaced before its interval when you perform service on other items.
*6 Inspect the engine for excessive noise and/or vibration and adjust if necessary. The system should be inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
*7 The fuel filter is considered maintenance-free, but periodic inspection is recommended for this service. The schedule depends on fuel quality. If there are any important issues, such as restricted fuel flow, surging, loss of power, starting problems, etc., replace the fuel filter immediately regardless of the maintenance schedule, and we recommend that you consult an authorized Kia dealer for details.
*8 When adding coolant, use only deionized water or soft water for your vehicle, and never mix hard water into the coolant filled at the factory. An incorrect coolant mixture may cause serious malfunction or engine damage.
*9 If quality gasoline that meets European fuel standards (EN228) or equivalent, including fuel additives, is not available, one bottle of additive is recommended. Additives are available from an authorized Kia dealer together with information on their use. Do not mix other additives.
*10 If 5W-20 engine oil is used for GDI, replace the engine oil and oil filter every 10,000 km.
