NORMAL MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE - FOR EUROPE (EXCEPT RUSSIA)

The following maintenance operations must be performed to ensure good emission control and performance. Keep receipts for all vehicle emission services to protect your warranty. Where mileage and time are indicated, the service interval is determined by whichever occurs first.
*1 Check the engine oil level and for leaks every 500 km (350 miles) or before starting a long trip.
*2 This maintenance schedule depends on fuel quality. It applies only when qualified fuel is used, <"EN590 or equivalent">. If the diesel fuel characteristics do not meet EN590, it must be replaced in accordance with the severe maintenance schedule.
*3 If the recommended oil is not available, replace the engine oil and engine oil filter every 20,000 km or 12 months.
*4 If the recommended oil is not available, replace the engine oil and filter every 15,000 km for the MPI engine, and replace the engine oil and filter every 10,000 km for the GDI engine.
*5 The engine oil level must be checked regularly and maintained at the proper level. Operating with insufficient oil may damage the engine, and such damage is not covered by the warranty.
*6 This maintenance schedule depends on fuel quality. It applies only when qualified fuel is used, <"EN590 or equivalent">. If the diesel fuel characteristics do not meet EN590, it must be replaced more frequently. If there are important safety concerns, such as restricted fuel flow, surging, loss of power, hard starting problems, etc., replace the fuel filter immediately regardless of the maintenance schedule, and we recommend that you contact an authorized Kia dealer for parts.
*7 The fuel filter is considered maintenance-free, but periodic inspection is recommended for this service. The schedule depends on fuel quality. If there are any important issues, such as restricted fuel flow, surging, loss of power, starting problems, etc., replace the fuel filter immediately regardless of the maintenance schedule, and we recommend that you consult an authorized Kia dealer for details.
*8 Manual transmission and dual clutch transmission fluid should be replaced each time they have been submerged in water.
*9 Inspect the drive belt tensioner, idler pulley and alternator pulley, adjust or replace if necessary.
*10 When adding coolant, use only deionized water or soft water for your vehicle, and never mix hard water into the coolant filled at the factory. An incorrect coolant mixture may cause serious malfunction or engine damage.
*11 Inspect the engine for excessive noise and/or vibration and adjust if necessary. The system should be inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
*12 If quality gasoline that meets European fuel standards (EN228) or equivalent, including fuel additives, is not available, one bottle of additive is recommended. Additives are available from an authorized Kia dealer together with information on their use. Do not mix other additives.
