Inspection
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the temperature control actuator connector.
- Check that the temperature control actuator moves to the warm position when 12 V is applied to terminal 3 and terminal 4 is grounded. Check that the temperature control actuator moves to the cool position when the connection is reversed.

3. Warm position
4. Sensor ground5. Feedback signal
6. Sensor (+5V)
7. Cool position - Connect the temperature control actuator connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Check the voltage between terminals 4 and 5. Specification
Door Position Voltage (V) Fault Detection Max. Cool 0.3 ± 0.15 V Low voltage: 0.1 V or less Max. Heat 4.7 ± 0.15 V High voltage: 4.9 V or more
It will report the current actuator position to the controls. - If the measured voltage does not meet the specification, replace the temperature control actuator with a known good one and check operation.
- If the problem is resolved, replace the temperature control actuator.
Replacement
[Driver Side Temperature Control Actuator]- Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Remove the emergency pad lower panel. (Refer to Body - "Emergency Pad Lower Panel")
- Remove the driver side air vent duct (A) after loosening the screw.

- Disconnect the connector (A), then remove the temperature control actuator (B) after loosening the mounting screws.

- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Remove the heater and blower assembly. (Refer to Heater - "Heater")
- Separate the blower unit from the heater unit by removing the 3 screws.
