What to Do in an Emergency

Safety Notes for Using the Tire Mobility Kit

~1min read
  • Park your vehicle on the side of the road so that you can work with the Tire Mobility Kit away from moving traffic.
  • To make sure your vehicle does not move, even when parked on fairly level ground, always apply the parking brake.
  • Use the Tire Mobility Kit only to seal and inflate passenger car tires. Only punctures located in the tread area of the tire can be sealed with the Tire Mobility Kit.
  • Do not use on motorcycles, bicycles, or any other types of tires.
  • If the tire and wheel are damaged, do not use the Tire Mobility Kit on your vehicle, as it may not be safe.
  • The Tire Mobility Kit may be ineffective for larger tire damage, approximately 6 mm (0.24 in) or more. Please contact the nearest Kia dealer if the tire cannot be made serviceable using the Tire Mobility Kit.
  • Do not remove any foreign objects, such as nails or screws, that have penetrated the tire.
  • If the vehicle is outdoors, keep the engine running. Otherwise, the compressor may eventually discharge the vehicle battery.
  • Never leave the Tire Mobility Kit unattended while it is in use.
  • Do not use the Tire Mobility Kit if the ambient temperature is below -30°C (-22°F).

WARNING

Do not run the compressor for more than 10 minutes at a time, or it may overheat.

WARNING

  • If sealant contacts the skin, wash the affected area thoroughly. Seek medical attention if irritation develops and persists.
  • If sealant gets into the eyes, flush the eyes with water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention if irritation does not subside.
  • If sealant is swallowed, seek medical attention or contact a poison control center immediately.

WARNING

Do not use the Tire Mobility Kit if the tire is severely damaged.
