You can set a speed limit when you do not want to drive above a specific speed.

If you exceed the set speed, the warning system will activate (the Speed Limit setting will flash and a warning chime will sound) until the vehicle speed returns within the speed limit.

NOTICE

While the speed limiter is active, the cruise control system cannot be activated.

Speed Limiter Switch

CANCEL: Cancels the set speed limit.

: Turns the speed limiter control system on or off.

RES+: Resumes or increases the speed limiter control speed.

SET-: Sets or decreases the speed limit control speed.

To set the speed limit:

1. Press the SPEED LIMIT button on the steering wheel twice to turn on the system. The speed limit indicator light will illuminate.2. Press the SPEED LIMIT button on the steering wheel twice to turn on the system. The speed limit indicator light will illuminate.

2. Move the lever down (to SET-).

3. Move the lever up (to RES+) or down (to SET-) and release it at the desired speed. Move the lever up (to RES+) or down (to SET-) and wait. The speed will increase or decrease by 5 km/h.

The set speed limit will be displayed.

To exceed the set speed limit, depress the accelerator pedal firmly (more than approximately 80%) until the kickdown mechanism engages with a clicking sound. The Speed Limit setting will then flash and a warning chime will sound until you return the vehicle speed within the speed limit.

NOTICE

  • If the accelerator pedal is depressed less than approximately 50%, the vehicle will not exceed the set speed limit, but keep the vehicle speed within the permitted speed.
  • A clicking sound from the kickdown mechanism when the accelerator pedal is fully depressed is normal.

To deactivate the speed limiter control, do one of the following:

  • Press the SPEED LIMITswitch again.
  • Turn the ignition off.

If you press the O switch once, the speed limit setting is cancelled, but the system is not turned off. If you want to reset the speed limit, move the lever up (to RES+) or down (to SET-) to the desired speed.

CAUTION

The "---" indicator will flash if there is a problem with the speed limiter system.

If this occurs, have the system checked at a professional workshop. Kia recommends visiting an authorized Kia Dealer/Service Partner.
