Cruise Control System

~1min read

The cruise control system allows you to program the vehicle to maintain a constant speed without pressing the accelerator pedal.

This system is designed to operate above approximately 30 km/h.

WARNING

  • If the cruise control is left on, the CRUISE indicator light on the instrument cluster will illuminate and the cruise control may be engaged accidentally. Keep the cruise control system off (CRUISE indicator light off) when the cruise control is not in use to avoid unintended set speed.
  • Use the cruise control system only on open roads in good weather.
  • Do not use the cruise control when it may be unsafe to maintain a constant speed, such as in heavy or changing traffic, on slippery (wet, icy or snow-covered) or winding roads, or on grades steeper than 6%, uphill or downhill.
  • Pay special attention to driving conditions when using the cruise control system.

CAUTION

While driving at cruising speed in a vehicle with a manual transmission, do not shift to neutral without depressing the clutch pedal, as this will overload the engine. If this occurs, depress the clutch pedal or release the cruise control ON-OFF switch.

NOTICE

During normal cruise control operation, when the SET switch is activated or reactivated after applying the brake, cruise control will engage after approximately 3 seconds. This delay is normal.

NOTICE

To activate the cruise control, depress the brake pedal at least once after turning the ignition switch to the ON position or starting the engine. This is to check that the brake switch, which is an important part of cancelling the cruise control under normal conditions, is functioning properly.
