Driving Your Vehicle

Radar-Type Autonomous Emergency Braking

~1min read

The AEB system is designed to reduce or help avoid the risk of an accident. It detects the distance to the vehicle ahead through sensors (i.e., radar) and, if necessary, warns the driver with a warning message or warning chime, or applies emergency braking when there is a danger of collision.

❈ The radar AEB system does not operate for pedestrians ahead.

WARNING

Observe the following precautions when using the Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) system:

  • This system is only a supplementary system and is not intended to replace the need for the driver's utmost care and attention. The detection range and objects detected by the sensors are limited. Always pay attention to road conditions.
  • NEVER drive too fast for the road conditions or while turning.
  • Always drive carefully to prevent unexpected and sudden situations from occurring. AEB does not stop the vehicle completely and does not prevent all collisions.
