Filter Replacement

The element should be replaced when necessary. It must not be washed.

The filter can be cleaned when the air cleaner element is inspected.

Clean the filter using compressed air.

1. Loosen the air cleaner cover clamps and open the cover.

2. Wipe the inside of the air cleaner.

3. Replace the air filter element.

4. Secure the cover with the cover mounting clips.

Replace the filter in accordance with the maintenance schedule.

If the vehicle is operated in very dusty or sandy areas, replace the element more often than the normal recommended intervals. (See "Severe Operating Conditions Maintenance" on page 8-16.)

CAUTION

• Do not drive with the air cleaner removed; this will cause excessive engine wear.
• When removing the air cleaner filter, make sure dust or dirt does not enter the air intake, otherwise damage may result.
• Use replacement parts from a professional workshop. Kia recommends visiting an authorized Kia dealer/service partner.
